There are several different types of handheld shower heads available for the home. In order to determine which, of the many, shower heads are most appropriate for you, it is essential to consider your individual needs. As you shop for this type of home accessory, you will find that there are many different styles available that include a wide range of functions and features. While the variety may result in many challenges in determining which model to opt for, the information contained within this guide may assist you in making the most appropriate choice. As with other products, this is the type of accessory where "One Size Fits All" is not always the case, therefore, you must put some careful thought and consideration into the process.

Physical Requirements

If you are shopping for handheld showers, it is important to determine whether or not you have any special physical needs. Many that suffer from a handicap that prevents them from standing for long periods of time may benefit from the use of shower heads that are flexible. Then, there are many that experience general mobility complications. In many instances, they may need special accommodations in the shower, such as shower seating and handheld shower heads. If you fall into one of these categories, you should look for heads that have an extended hose and are not too heavy. These models will permit you to appropriately clean your body while experiencing a high level of comfort.

Water Efficiency

The next consideration that should be made when shopping for shower heads is the amount of water efficiency that the unit has. Not only is it beneficial to the environment that you focus on conserving water, by doing so, you may be able to save an exceptional amount of cash. When shopping for the handheld shower unit, it is important to understand that there are standard models and there are models that are designed to provide a sufficient amount of water, but actually reduce the amount of water that is emitted from the unit as a whole. These are often referred to as "low flow" models. If you want to pay less for the amount of water that you utilize, it is essential that you focus on handheld shower heads that are rated high in water efficiency.

Personal Preferences

If you are in the market to make an adjustment to your shower, you should consider your personal preferences. There are many different types of features associated with these devices. Most of the features pertain to the way that the water is eliminated from the unit. Many shower heads may be adjusted to a fast flow, a mist, or a low flow. In addition to this, there are often many other options. When choosing a hand held shower device, it is imperative that you consider the features that you are most interested in. In addition to this, you may want to consider the length of the hose, and the compatibility of the unit to your shower connections. By following the tips outlined in this shower head consumer guide, you will be able to determine which, of the many, handheld heads are most appropriate for your home.

Make sure it can be set to give enough water. Some are super low water output, and it's just annoying.

I actually love using these. I don't know why more showers aren't like this.

Make sure to get one where the holder allows you to adjust the angle, or else you may as well have a fixed shower head.

Is it hard to convert a regular shower head to one of these?

My uncle has a shower that sprays you out of the walls. It totally took me by surprise the first time I accidentally turned it on!
